The IMSS announces the conclusion of the COVID 4.0 Permit

August 8, 2022
Francisco Trejo Gutiérrez

The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) reported that, as of August 8, 2022, the COVID 4.0 Permit is terminated, which was requested remotely, that is, without the need for the employee to go to his/her affiliated clinic. This permit granted a temporary disability to work for a period of five days and was enabled as a result of the fifth wave as of July 6 of the current year to avoid face-to-face consultations in order to try to stop the chains of contagion.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is important to mention that those employees who present symptoms of COVID-19 must go to their corresponding Family Medical Unit to be treated and, where appropriate, obtain the respective disability.
